Electronic Prescriptions

If you get regular prescriptions, the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) may be able to save you time by avoiding unnecessary trips to your GP.

EPS makes it possible for your prescriptions to be sent electronically to the Pharmacy or Dispenser of your choice.

The Practice is now able to send most NHS prescriptions to your chosen Pharmacy using the Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS). If you regularly use the same Pharmacy and it is able to receive prescriptions this way, via EPS, then all you need do is to sign up to the service.

Choosing a Pharmacy or Dispensing Appliance Contractor to process your EPS prescription is called nomination. This means that you can choose to have a paper-free prescription. This can now be changed directly via  Patient Access , if you are a registered user.

This means you’ll no longer have to collect a paper repeat prescription from your GP Practice – instead, you can go straight to the nominated Pharmacy or Dispensing Appliance Contractor to pick up your medicines or medical appliances.

Not all Pharmacies are able to use the EPS yet, and a few NHS prescriptions are not suitable for EPS; please ask the Doctor or Pharmacist if you want more information.

Please speak to our Reception Team for more information on how to setup the EPS service.
